Members of the group contribute to teaching, research and policy development in areas including HRM in Irish and multinational organisations; HRM in the platform economy, algorithmic HRM and gig work; HR analytics and HR technology; HRM and sustainability; HRM and employment relations in global supply chains; Care and the workplace; Gender equality, diversity and inclusion; Job quality, voice and wellbeing; Workplace conflict and resolution; and Employment Relations in Europe. The group shares a commitment to independent and critical teaching and scholarship and their teaching and research takes account of the interests of all the main stakeholders in the world of work: employers, employees, trade unions and the wider community.

On the international stage, the disciplines of human resource management and employee/industrial relations in the Smurfit School and their students are networked through the Group’s association with the ILR School at Cornell University, Ithaca (New York) and the EMLS network.
